Case Study: Things I wished I knew before I built an Intranet

Jo Sutcliffe gave a captivating presentation at the fourth edition of the Intra.NET Reloaded London in 2018 on setting up an intranet at the London South Bank University from scratch. Through self-study, visiting conferences such as the Intra.Net Reloaded, conducting expert interviews and surveys, Jo and his team came up with a plan and set out to create a new intranet platform that would serve 2500 staff in 40 departments and deliver efficiency and support change management with usage growing by 600% in the first 9 months.

In his presentation, he shares the problems they encountered as well as his personal “7 things I wished I knew before I built an intranet” making this a case study other Intranet developers can truly learn from!

Key topics:

  • Why we built our own intranet
  • Dealing with workplace culture and overcoming obstacles
  • How an intranet can help develop a sharing culture

Jo Sutcliffe is Head of Communications at London South Bank University.
